The Star: Medical Mythbusters Malaysia Feature

The Star, one of Malaysia's most widely read English-language newspapers, featured Medical Mythbusters Malaysia (M3) as a doctor-led initiative combating medical misinformation in the country. The piece profiled the organization's approach to countering health myths and its founding team of approximately 28 doctors working collectively to address misinformation at scale.

This was not a self-promoted appearance. The Star's coverage came as a result of M3's growing visibility in the Malaysian health communication space, where the team's systematic approach to debunking medical myths had attracted both public attention and journalistic interest.

The feature highlighted how M3 operated differently from institutional health communication, meeting misinformation where it spread (social media) rather than relying on traditional top-down messaging.

What This Demonstrates

Recognition by a major national newspaper of the significance and credibility of grassroots health communication work. The ability to attract media interest through impact rather than self-promotion.
