About
Assalamualaikum, salam sejahtera.
I'm Dr. Syamirul, a fully registered medical doctor in Malaysia who now lives at the intersection of clinical care, technology, and thoughtful systems design. I still carry a stethoscope, but these days I spend just as much time debugging workflows and data pipelines as I do examining patients.
For the past few years, my work has revolved around a single question:
"How do we make healthcare kinder, smarter, and less painful for everyone involved?"
Patients, clinicians, operators, founders, product teams, everyone.
This site, and the services I offer, are my attempt to answer that question in a practical way.
Who I Am
I trained and practice as a medical doctor, doing locum work, telemedicine, and concierge / house-call services, especially for people who value time, privacy, and feeling genuinely listened to.
Along the way, I moved into health tech and AI product work. I have worked on clinical AI tools, integrations, and workflows that sit in the messy reality of clinics and hospitals, not just in slide decks. I'm comfortable both in a consultation room and inside an API spec.
That mix of experiences means I think like a clinician, build like a developer, and negotiate trade-offs like a product person.
What I Do
I group my work into four main pillars:
Clinical Services
I still see patients. That matters to me.
I provide locum coverage, telemedicine consults, and selected concierge / house-call services. My focus is practical, evidence-informed care, delivered with the kind of explanation and emotional clarity I wish more people received in the healthcare system.
Digital and AI Solutions
Here is where the "doctor who codes" part shows up.
I design and build workflow automations, integrations, and full-stack tools that solve real operational problems in clinics and health organisations. This may look like connecting legacy systems to modern platforms, cleaning and migrating clinical data, building small opinionated tools that save staff hours of repetitive work, or integrating AI in ways that are safe, auditable, and actually useful.
I care a lot about data quality, schema design, and failure modes, not just shiny features.
Consultancy and Product Thinking
Sometimes what you need is not "a dev" or "a doctor", but someone who can sit with your messy reality and help you decide what to build, when, and why.
I help teams with translating between clinical requirements and technical implementation, scoping realistic roadmaps for health tech products, reviewing workflows and proposing simpler and safer paths, and writing clear documentation and technical narratives that align stakeholders.
If you are building something in healthcare and need a sparring partner who understands both medicine and systems, this is where I fit.
Training and Workshops
I design and deliver training programs, from emotional resilience sessions for students to practical sessions on AI, clinical tools, and digital workflows for healthcare teams.
My teaching style is grounded, story-driven, and psychologically aware. I pay attention to how people actually learn, not just what looks good on a slide.
How I Work
I value a few things very strongly.
Clarity over buzzwords. If we cannot explain what we are doing in plain language, something is off.
Real-world constraints. Clinics are busy, humans are tired, and systems are messy. Any solution that ignores that will break on contact with reality.
Accountability and iteration. I prefer small, concrete improvements over grand promises that never ship.
Respect for people. Patients, staff, founders, students, everyone. Psychological safety and dignity are not "nice to have". They are infrastructure.
Whether I am treating a patient, designing a migration plan, or sketching an AI-assisted workflow, I try to honour those values.
Why This Site Exists
This site is a living workspace where I share what I am learning about medicine, systems, and AI, document experiments and tools that might help others, and offer ways to work together, whether that is as your doctor, your consultant, or your technical partner.
Parts of it will occasionally look "under construction" because they are. I prefer honest work-in-progress over a perfectly polished but empty shell.
If You Want to Collaborate
If something here resonates with you, whether you are a patient or family member who needs a thoughtful, on-the-ground doctor, a clinic or organisation trying to modernise without burning everyone out, a founder or product team building in healthcare and needing clinical-technical alignment, or an educator or institution looking for grounded, psychologically aware training, then I would be happy to explore what we can build together.
Assalamualaikum, and thank you for being here.
